Or, are you worried that they are downloading apps inappropriate for their age? This will let you prevent your child from downloading unwanted apps on your device, as well as their own. The majority of apps have an age rating that helps determine which apps are most appropriate.
You can block the downloads of apps that surpass a certain age by using parental controls within the Google Play Store. Note: Apps on your phone that were downloaded before you set any parental controls are accessible, despite their age rating.
The apps which use your data in the background to download are due to the permission that you have granted. When the app is installed, it asks for several permissions which you grant in hurry without even knowing. Some of the apps include permission for background downloads while others just ask for the camera, location, and microphone. Now that you have granted the permission it is still in your control to restrict it.
You can stop them from using data in the background which means the app will use data only when you are using it.
Follow the steps to restrict background data usage. After restricting the apps to use data in the background you will observe that you need to keep the app active till it updates. Moreover, you cannot use any other in the meantime. The apps from non trusted sites can carry malicious files along with them which can affect the data in your system. To track all the malicious programs, you can use an antivirus program.
Antivirus will not only protect the files but will also stop Android from installing apps automatically. Out of the many apps available on the internet, we would recommend you to use the most trusted app. It will stop and cancel your file download. The download box will disappear from Notification Center.
Method 2. Open the Play Store on your Android. The Play Store icon looks like a colored arrowhead icon on your Apps menu. Find and tap the app you want to download. You can browse menu categories, or use the search bar at the top to quickly find an app. Tapping will open the app page. This button is located below the app name in the upper-right corner of the app page. It will start downloading this app on your Android. Tap the "X" icon.
Tap this icon to stop and cancel the app download. When you cancel an app download, you can't resume it later. You will have to start the download again from the beginning. With Samsung updated software, I can't just necessarily cancel a download that easily. I don't get the pause or cancel option.
What else can be done? Most Android devices now come with some sort of file manager preinstalled, and for those that don't, there's a better alternative anyway. By far the easiest way to find downloaded files on Android is to look in your app drawer for an app called Files or My Files. Regardless of which device, once you find and open the file manager, use it to look for the Downloads folder and open it. There you will find your downloaded files in chronological order newest to oldest, in most cases.
You can, however, change how the files are sorted. In Samsung's My Files app, tap on the three-dot menu icon and then select 'Sort by. Once you've located your downloaded files, you can open a file with a tap, or bring up more options with a long-press on the file.
If you don't like the default file manager app on your Android phone, or it doesn't have one, download the Files by Google app formerly Files Go from the Play Store. The app is easy to navigate, provides quick access to your downloads folder and helps you free up storage space. When you open Files by Google, the app will recommend various options like clearing out app caches, removing junk files or deleting backed-up photos from your device. There's even an AirDrop-like file-sharing feature baked into the app that makes it really easy to share files with someone who is nearby.
Once you've installed the app, you can find your downloaded files by selecting the Browse tab at the bottom of the app, then tapping Downloads. Tap a file to open it, or long-press on it to select the file and delete, share or rename it.
